Exhibition:
'Tempo è lavoro'
April, 2015
Over the last 50 years, the northeast of Italy has established a system of widespread entrepreneurship, a singular phenomenon due to its geographical extent, variety of production typologies, capillary diffusion, and architectural anonymity. In a race for well-being, for a historically longed-for economic emancipation, thousands of industrial areas and warehouses have arisen in the region. The numbers are mind-boggling. Yet these areas, which employ a large percentage of the region's workforce, are still invisible territories. These places remain mostly unknown. The exhibition evokes the need to investigate this grey land and its inhabitants—the workers.
Exworks (in collaboration with Working Title Film Festival) hosts the photographic exhibition 'Time is work'. The photographers Gianpaolo Arena, Daniele Cinciripini, Fulvio Orsenigo and David Wilson investigate the changes in the places and dynamics of work and the industrial landscape of Veneto in recent decades.

Hi! I am Steve, a professional in the field of photography and visual arts, with a background as a curator, art director, and educator.
Venetian on my father’s side, with a French surname that dates back to Napoleon’s campaigns, and a soldier from around Montpellier. My mother was born in Belgium to a Dutch family. My grandfather from Hoboken, New Jersey, on the Hudson River. I grew up a bit here and there; I currently live in Paris.
I have known the world before smartphones, computers, and the internet. Before low-cost flights. The backseat of my father's car was my window. Studies pushed me to embrace complexity, a quite observation. A gaze that "touches," that dares in some way, that strives to forge a connection.
I spent the past 20 years questioning the role of images in society.
